Nowadays, AI is no longer a futuristic concept, its usage has been rising a lot in our society, spread across all kinds of work and becoming part of our daily lives. While AI brings countless benefits, it also raises important questions about society and ethics. People will be more unemployed? Over-reliance on AI? AI deepfake? Let’s dive down in this article which will explore the impact AI has on society and the ethical dilemmas it brings.
How AI Affect Job Market ?

AI is slowly transforming the way we work, but one of its major impacts is the increasing risk of unemployment. In the past, the company needed to hire lots of employees, causing them to have a higher cost in doing business. Nowadays, AI has been improved so much that employers are able to replace their employees with AI as machines and algorithms become more capable of performing tasks traditionally done by humans—such as customer service as we can normally see these days, many company contact channels (call center, LINE official) use AI to contact with their customers. Which causes many complaints from customers since AI communication cannot understand them in the way humans do, making them waste time and still unable to solve their problems.
The impact of AI on employment is not only limited to the service industry. In sectors like manufacturing, transportation, and even journalism, AI and robotics have begun to take over repetitive or routine-based tasks. For example, self-checkout machines in supermarkets and automated warehouses reduce the need for cashiers or stock workers. In some countries, autonomous delivery robots are already being tested, signaling even more job reductions in the future. While this shift may improve business efficiency and lower costs, it also creates economic insecurity and makes many workers feel worried as they are afraid to be replaced by technology causing them to lose their jobs to machines.
Over-reliance
Some individuals and businesses are becoming overly reliant on AI, trusting it to make decisions without human oversight. This overdependence not only reduces critical thinking and problem-solving among individuals but also poses risks when AI systems make mistakes or fail in unexpected ways. One thing that is also a problem is AI affects the way how students learn in school or university. In the past, students had to study on their own, researching from textbooks, using the internet to help them find information at most which would practice their patience and concentration, improve their critical thinking and sequencing the ideas. However, it has dramatically changed these days, with students starting to use AI too much for their education such as using it to do their assignment or writing essays.
This kind of usage might lead to a lack of learning depth and academic dishonesty. Students may rely on AI to generate full answers without fully understanding the material, which weakens their ability to express original thoughts or apply knowledge in real-life situations. Yet, using AI to do work is not wrong but you just need to use it wisely, use it as a tool to reduce your time spending, not to replace humans. AI should be a support system, not a substitute for creativity, effort, and learning. With the right balance, AI can be a powerful partner in human progress rather than a threat to it.
AI Deepfake
Another significant concern, the AI ethics. Many people nowadays use AI in an unethical way causing trouble to the victims such as the rise of AI deepfake. Deepfakes are videos, images, or audio clips that are created using generative AI to make someone appear to say or do something they never actually did or even worse, a porn picture or videos. This is a really significant concern that everyone should pay attention to as it is not only causing embarrassment to victims, it is also a crime according to computer crime act B.E.2550.
Deepfakes are becoming easier and faster to create, even by people who have little to no technical skills, because many free or low-cost tools are now available online. This makes the problem more serious, especially when the deepfake content is shared widely on social media. Victims may face public shaming, damage to their personal or professional life, and long-term mental health effects. In many cases, it is difficult to remove the content once it spreads across the internet. Therefore, it is very important to raise awareness about how AI can be misused and to educate people about online safety, digital consent, and how to identify fake content before believing or sharing it.
AI Generate Photo
AI generated pictures are also a big controversy in the artistic industry as everyone knows that AI generated the pictures from mixing images of several artists without permission causing dissatisfaction among artists around the world. Meanwhile some groups of people still claimed themselves as artists just because they can generate pictures from AI which does not use any ability at all compared to real artists which create art from their own hands and imagination. Many professional artists feel that this trend devalues their hard work and years of practice, leading to frustration and concerns about the future of the creative industry.

An example is Hayao Miyazaki, he is a Japanese animator, filmmaker, manga artist, co-founder of Studio Ghibli and serves as its honorary chairman. Lately, there was a website launched all over the world which let the users generate their photos into a Ghibli photo style which has no permission from Mr.Hayao Miyazaki to do so. This caused outrage among fans and artists alike, as many felt that it disrespected the legacy and unique style of Studio Ghibli’s hand-drawn animation. He also once said that
“I am absolutely disgusted. If you want to make something creepy then go ahead. I have no intention of incorporating this technology into my work. I feel strongly that it is a contempt for life. We are nearing the end of time. Humans are losing faith in themselves.”
This statement can strongly represent how artists view the rise of AI generated photos, he has spoken for all of the artists in the field. His words reflect the deep emotional and ethical concerns that many creators feel, as they see their unique styles and years of effort being copied without consent or understanding of the artistry behind it.
Conclusion
The rapid advancement of AI is shaping the world in ways we could never have imagined just a few decades ago. While this powerful technology brings countless possibilities and benefits, it also challenges us to think deeply about how we use it and what kind of future we want to create. As AI continues to integrate into our daily lives, it is essential for society to move forward with caution, awareness, and responsibility. We must learn not only to embrace innovation but also to protect the values, ethics, and human dignity that define us. The way we choose to handle AI today will have a lasting impact on generations to come.
