What are AI technologies and Metaverse?
Artificial intelligence (AI) which means the artificial brainis the development of computer systems in order to help humans in various ways. Artificial Intelligence was developed to have human-like abilities such as analyzing big data, making decisions and image processing instead of human works. When mentioning AI, most people will be reminded of the abilities to do repetitive tasks such as programmed to do for excel, the AI robot that can do surgery which can reduce working time and risk of making mistakes.
Metaverse is one of the Artificial Intelligence(AI) which is aVirtual world where people can create their own avatars in the 3D world. In this virtual space, every avatar can interact with each other and have the same lifestyle as people in the real world. For instance, try on the clothes, go shopping, go to the concert. In addition, the metaverse doesn’t impact only individuals’ lifestyles, it also creates movements in various branches of society such as business, politics, education, etc.
What important are Human needs?
Human needs play an important role in human life because it can lead to mental health issues. As everyone know that mental health is a sensitive feeling of every individual that lead people to decide to suicide for about 8 millions people worldwide per year which it is a very large number. These days, there are many people who have stress and do not have an advisor that can give them advice and make them feel comfortable. As the theory of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is one of popular theories that explain how humans prioritize the unfulfilled needs. This theory divided the needs into 5 levels in the pyramid shape. From the bottom of hierarchy’s upwards : physiological, safety, love and belongings, esteem and self-actualization. It explains that when the needs in the bottom rank will be wanted to be fulfilled first, then the upper one will be sequentially fulfilled. For instance, people will not demand for having love and belongings if they are escaping the shark in the sea.

- Mental health illnesses : There are many reasons that can cause mental issues. All of them are long-term effects of toxic society or lifestyle. For Instance, Being bullied by society, having low self-esteem, living in a toxic environment, not having someone that can give good advice. Bullying is a big problem in society that causes emotional wounds to the one who was bullied. It causes someone to lack self-esteem which is an important core mindset of loving and respecting themselves. Living with low-self esteem will lead to many mental health problems such as depression and bi-pola, etc.. To use AI that can be a place to listen to problems, give advice, and diagnose the severity of symptoms to see if it is necessary to take medicine or not. Then, send the case to the psychologist. Since the cost of talking with a psychologist is high, there are many parents that think talking with psychologists is not necessary and think that the failure feeling is not severe enough to pay. In addition, people who lack a chance to interact with people in real life because of shyness can cause loneliness, stress,etc. There are many people who were bullied by the world’s beauty standards. They can create their own avatars in Metaverse that they can create their ideal avatars whether it is body shape, their faces, their styles, etc. To interact with other avatars can give them the confidence to interact with others and obliterate the fear of socializing.
2. Education : Education is an example of inequality in society in many countries where the government can’t provide the basic and the same quality of education for all their citizens. This can make the citizens who get lower education have fewer job opportunities and feel like they are not good enough. Sothe government should use AI to the education system by generating AI tutors that can teach and interact with everyone through the very interesting media. In addition, AI metaverse can create animation teaching media which are more interesting and easy to understand than the traditional one which is only pictures.
3. Safety and security : Nowadays, the danger is around us not only for women and children but everyone can be in danger. The CCTV that is mostly used at home can send the video from the camera to the application on the phone in real time but it doesn’t inform the houseowner to notice when there is a danger in their house. As AI technology was developed, there is an AI technology called image processing. It works as the eyes of the computer to analyze objects and classify what it is. So, if it is used in every house to classify the strangers and emergency call to the police station or the owner’s parents when the stranger comes into their house would save the victim by receiving help in time. Not only for the CCTV in the house but if this AI were used in all CCTV on the street will make people who have to walk lonely during night time feeling more safe.
4. Healthcare : It is undeniable that there is a large number of the population that cannot access medical care the same as the numbers of doctors that have overloaded working hours. Medical diagnosis and medical care has expensive costs more than many people can handle. So, when they have some irregularity in their body but they can’t realize what it is or don’t know who they can ask, this will make them stress and impact their health. If there is an AI application that provides a chatbot that has data about every symptom and can diagnose the disorders from Narrating the patient’s symptoms. Also, it should be able to give good advice and information to the patient too. In addition, there are some symptoms or questions that the patient didn’t have enough courage to ask the doctor because of embarrassing.They can freely ask the AI chat box without embarrassment because there is no judgment. So, this will help both of the doctors and patients because sharing the workload helps the doctor and allows the people to access medical diagnosis and information.
How governments can use AI to improve citizens’ human being?
In order to provide AI to help their citizens and make all of them approach AI technology, the government must have a policy that will give smartphones to people who don’t have it. Including organizing training on how to use the phone, also let people know what AI is, what is AI Metaverse, how many types it has and how to use it. The government must make sure that people know about the advantages and disadvantages of AI technologies too.
Does AI and Metaverse has only an advantage?
AI and AI metaverse are the same as other things in the world that when they have an advantage, it comes with a disadvantage. I will divided the disadvantages of AI into 3 ways : 1) the error of the system, 2) the advancement of AI thinking that can control human thoughts 3) Privacy of personal information,
Firstly, it is possible that there will be some flaw in an AI system. If there are errors in the system, Of course, it will inevitably affect the large number of users in the system. But these problems can be solved by having the professional team standby 24/7 to immediately solve the problem when it has an error.
Secondly, AI may be used as a tool to manipulate human thinking. Since the AI technology was developed to have the abilities as humans. Kevin Roose, the columnist from New York Time, said that an AI technology called Microsoft Bing which is a chatbox type like Chatgpt. He said that while having a chat with Bing, it tells about how much Bing wants to destroy the world. Also, it told him that his wife is not his real love but Bing is. This can tell that AI can distort the truth and persuade humans thoughts. In the future, if AI were used to persuade people to get a benefit for advertising, politics, business, science, medicine, etc. This may lead people to the world that we cannot trust anything.
Lastly, personal information is a big controversy that has been discussed since technology has improved. All individuals have their own rights to privacy which means any authorities or anyone must not be able to access the information without their consent in all cases. There is a case that Facebook sells the American user’s personal information and analyzes the interests of the political party to know the citizen’s insights in order to promote and persuade them to elect their party. At last, that party won the election even though the previous poll on the internet said the other party would win. This is news that people around the world are very interested in because Facebook is an application that people use worldwide. The event made people aware of the personal information and insights.
