The Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at Thammasat University recently hosted its inaugural MediaX AI Innovation Hackathon, marking a significant milestone in bridging AI technology with communication studies. The event brought together talented students who transformed innovative ideas into practical solutions over an intensive 48-hour period.

Fostering Innovation in Communication

The hackathon featured three distinct tracks focusing on creative, business, and educational communication, challenging participants to leverage AI tools to solve real-world communication challenges. Teams worked tirelessly to develop solutions that demonstrated the powerful intersection of artificial intelligence and modern communication strategies.

Outstanding Achievements

The event culminated in impressive presentations from all participating teams, with three teams standing out for their exceptional solutions:

  • CreatIx emerged as champions, impressing judges with their innovative approach to AI-enhanced communication
  • EduSphere secured first runner-up with their creative solution
  • TalentSync, notably composed of first-year students, claimed second runner-up, demonstrating that fresh perspectives and determination can compete with experience

A particularly inspiring aspect of the event was the success of TalentSync, whose achievement highlighted the inclusive and collaborative atmosphere of the hackathon. Their performance demonstrated how the event successfully bridged the gap between junior and senior students, fostering meaningful peer learning opportunities.

Industry Support and Mentorship

The event’s success was significantly enhanced by the support of our sponsors, Teams Training Thailand, who demonstrated their commitment to nurturing next-generation talent in AI and communication. Dedicated mentors provided invaluable guidance throughout the event, sharing their expertise and helping teams refine their ideas into viable solutions.

More than just a competition, the MediaX AI Innovation Hackathon served as a platform for:

  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools
  • Real-world problem-solving in communication
  • Network building between students and industry professionals
  • Fostering collaboration across academic years
